How it all began: During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey, on February 19,2020 Ankara hosted the first meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Council for Strategic Cooperation of the highest level. As a result, a joint statement was signed.

In particular, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum on the opening of the Tashkent branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey under the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey "TOBB". It is worth to note that the initiative to open a branch of the University was put forward by the Uzbek side during the negotiations of the Business Council of Turkic-speaking states, held in October 2019 in Tashkent. During the visit of the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov to Turkey was held the Meeting with Vice-rector of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey (TOВВ) Yusuf Sarinay, where the parties have discussed issues on promising cooperation in the areas of undergraduate education, in particular entrepreneurship, digital commerce, corporate law based on the dual education system.

First steps towards opening: On June 17, 2020 the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted Resolution "On measures to establish a branch of the Turkish University of Economics and Technology in Tashkent". Exciting moments: Entrance exams to the Tashkent branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey were held on August 29, 2020 at the Tashkent State University of Economics. The first meeting of the Rector of the TOBB ETÜ Tashkent branch, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor Adham Ikramov with students of the branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey in Tashkent took place on October 10, 2020 Looking to the future: Students who choose our University will become part of the entrepreneurial environment and receive original and universal knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship.
